This black-and-white mezzotint print depicts Saint George standing in full armor. In this dark print his armor appears shiny in sharp contrast to the dark background. St. George looks downwards, and has a melancholy expression. He has shoulder length dark hair. He wears a full coat of armor that has large rosettes at his shoulders, elbows and knees. He holds a long spear in his arm to our right and there is a long sword hanging at his hip to our right. Also on this side, he leans a long spear against his body. He wears a mesh metal skirt at his thighs.He stands against a dark background, possibly with a dark curtain to the viewer’s right.
