This print is a stipple engraving, where the image and color density are created with a variety of dots. This engraving is of a woman in profile, facing to our left, wearing a large turban around her head. She has light skin and dark hair. Her turban is made of a silky peach-colored fabric with a decorative gold band around its middle and a loose tail at the back that falls on the woman's neck, shoulder, then down her back. Her dress, like the turban, is made of a silky fabric, with one puffy sleeve visible. The dress has a low-cut draped bodice fastened with a brooch between her breasts. Some of the woman's hair escapes the turban and falls over her ear and down her neck on her left side which is closest to us. On the far side a curl falls from behind her neck and down her chest. She holds her head slightly bent forward as she looks down with a small, melancholy smile.
