Lyre-back Armchair (Poltrona con schienale con cartella a lira), 1790-1799
Painted walnut, 84 x 53 x 45 cm (33 1/16 x 20 7/8 x 17 11/16 in.)
This is a painted walnut armchair painted a warm yellow. The chair seat upholstery is also yellow, and features a yellow striped pattern edged with a yellow geometric braid. Red flowers and green vines are painted on the sides and back of the chair. The seat back of the chair is shaped like a harp with four dark brown strings. The four rounded, fluted legs are attached to the chair with a carved yellow flower on a green background.
