The foreground has a brown, square-roofed pavilion that overlooks the water. To the left of the building is a blossoming cherry tree. The coast line is scattered with green and yellow bushes. The water is the middle ground of the scene. A squat wooden boat to the left of the cherry tree sails towards the right of the landscape. To the left of the cherry tree are three boats with yellow sails. A cliff-like shoreline sits in the background. The shore only takes up the right two-thirds of the background, with water taking up the left third. The middle of the shore is dominated by a large rock formation in the shape of an inverted “v.” A yellow and a red house are to the right of the rocks and slightly hidden by it, with the red house being slightly above the yellow house. A field of green grass is to the right of the houses and then the scene becomes the base of a rocky mountain. Behind the rock and houses are green and yellow trees. A poem is inscribed in the upper left of the scene. A thin brown line borders the scene, followed by a slightly thicker blue line, then another thin brown line. The high walls of the dish are decorated with two black, twisting, leafy vines. The bottom of the dish is light blue with the museum’s accession number written on it.
