Purchased by Isabella Stewart Gardner (as a set of six corbels, museum nos. S19e51.1-6) from the art and antiques gallery Bacri Frères, Paris for 3,000 francs by 24 July 1906.
Commentary
Isabella Stewart Gardner kept meticulous records of many of her acquisitions. In keeping with this legacy, object information is continually being reviewed, updated, and enriched in order to give greater access to the collection.
