Bowl: Dragon, late 19th century
Stained copper with inlay, 14.3 x 39.5 cm (5 5/8 x 15 9/16 in.)
This is a stained copper Japanese dragon bowl. The shallow bowl sits on three metal feet that are shaped like animal heads. The outside is decorated with a golden dragon motif on a dark brown and black background. The top rim is scalloped, and has five upside down heart-shaped openings spaced around it. The inside center of the bowl has a large, greenish circular flower in the center.
