Lacquer with gold and mother of pearl, 2.2 x 5.2 cm (7/8 x 2 1/16 in.)
Japanese lacquer box in the shape of a flower. The center of the lid has a dark grey five-petaled flower and is outlined in light blue. Five larger petals extend beyond and inside each section there is a colorful geometric design. Four rows of light greenish blue roping encircle the lid with a pink flower at the intersection of each petal. The inside and bottom of the box has closely spaced gold dots on a dark background.
