Provenance
Stilfes bei Sterzing parish church, Tirol, Austria, one of two stained glass panels.
Purchased by Isabella Stewart Gardner from the dealer A. Pickert, Nuremberg, for either 350 or 450 florins on 11 August 1875 (as "Girl kneeling," German, about 1490).
Commentary
Isabella Stewart Gardner kept meticulous records of many of her acquisitions. In keeping with this legacy, object information is continually being reviewed, updated, and enriched in order to give greater access to the collection.
