This vertical etching and drypoint print depicts a woman totally engrossed in her sewing. The figure fills most of the space, top to bottom and on both sides. Her head is tilted slightly forward with her eyes gazing down to her hands. Her hair is twisted up in an open knot at the top of her head. Alternating fine and firm lines form the outline and texture of her hair in this style. Her face is heart-shaped and her ears are barely visible at the sides of her face. She has a delicate, light-skinned face, with dark lines drawn in for her eyebrows and more subtle lines for her eyelashes. Fainter lines represent her mouth and the dent of her chin. Diagonal lines from our left to right under her chin create a shadow on her neck. Simple black lines designate the outline of her arms, the space between her  arms and her upper body, her wrists, and her hands and fingers. Her hands meet at her chest, with the fingers on her right hand curved, holding a needle with her index finger and thumb. The fingers on her left hand are straight, holding whatever it is that she is sewing. In the background on our right is a cropped view of a window frame and glass. The rest of the background is dark, created by thick black diagonal lines from the upper corner to our left to the figure, and on the other side, to the window.  At the bottom corner to our right is the artist’s signature.
