This oil painting depicts twelve people in an outdoor setting and is rendered in many deep colors. The main focus is the two figures in the center.  To our left is a light-skinned man seated on a marble chair set atop a platform and oriented to our right, He is dressed in a blue garment with a burgundy and gold-colored shawl draped over his shoulders and wears light reddish boots that rise up his shins. He holds a slender rod against his thigh to our right.   He has brown hair and looks slightly downward at the woman who kneels in front of him.  This light-skinned woman, who is shown in a position of supplication, has blonde hair with a white veil over her head and draped across her shoulder.  She wears a red tunic over a blue long-sleeved gown.  Her arm to our left is held across her chest and her other arm is resting on her thigh.  There are two medium-skinned men standing to the left.  One is dressed in a thigh-length red tunic and a silver helmet.  He is in conversation with a man who is dressed in a brown tunic, has a white beard, and a white turban on his head.  Further to the right, behind the kneeling woman, stand two medium-skinned men, also in conversation.  One wears a brown tunic with a red scarf, and a fancy red and white hat.  The other man wears a blue robe that is trimmed in white with a hood over his head.  There are two males to our right kneeling behind the female figure; one dressed in a short tan tunic and black boots and the other wears a blue robe and a red scarf-like headdress.  They hold a large silver tray and urn, and there is a silver vase on the ground next to them.  Behind them is a grouping of four light and medium-skinned males who speak amongst themselves.  The one with his back to the viewer is dressed in a flowing red tunic and tan hat.  Another man is dressed in blue, with a blue hat and a long white beard. Another bearded man wears a blue and black tunic with one arm on his hip.  Only the face of the fourth person is visible who appears to be light-skinned.  There are several white and tan tents with pointed tops and trees in the distance. Several other figures are visible inside the tents. Further in the distance to our right are buildings on a cliff above a light blue body of water.   The blue sky has pink tinged clouds that are reflected in the water.
