This Japanese incense burner is celadon glazed ceramic in the shape of a hexagon. A geometric pattern repeats at the top edge of each side. On opposite sides, a bird with outstretched wings and a foliate pattern behind it is featured on an open panel through which the perfumed incense smoke wafts out. The removable, open silver top is shaped in a circular petal pattern with a small round finial.
