This Venetian tilt-top table is made of an ornate oval top and an unadorned base. The top is supported by a single beechwood turned-post that is supported at the bottom by a tripod of thick, gold-painted, s-curved legs decorated with small flowers. At the top of the supporting post, a hinge allows the table top to tilt from horizontally flat to almost vertically upright. In contrast to the relatively plain base, the oval top is elaborately decorated. It is outlined with a scalloped, thin, raised light-gold wood edge. Inside this edge a wide, darker-gold scalloped band, is ornamented with fine, dark-blue vine-like clusters on the four sides, with very pale, mostly white, small floral decorations between each blue cluster, and a narrow dark-blue outlined strip within which courses a continuous dark-blue, vine-like chain. Inside this wide gold band, which functions as a frame, the painting’s central focus is of three figures in the clouds. The largest figure, standing at our right supported by a cloud, is a light-skinned male figure with a red buoyant fabric draped around his back and his lower torso and a multi-pointed halo behind his light brown hair.  His left arm is partially raised, and he is gazing slightly up to our left. A lyre rests on the cloud near his bare feet. On our left and slightly above the figure, a second figure sits on a cloud looking down at the male figure. A dark blue robe flows behind their bare upper torso, as if lifted by the wind, and white fabric drapes the lower body. A small white crown sits forward on the figure’s golden hair. A small angel clothed in gold fabric with a gray wing protruding from his back, stands on a cloud below the above figure. Beneath this trio of figures that are perched on clouds against a bright blue sky, a cove of alternating sandy beach, gentle hills and a few, faint wind swept trees surrounds the turquoise-blue water of an inlet upon which a tall sailboat is moored to the right.
