Chair-Back Settee, about 1790-1799

This is an English chair back settee made of beech wood. This settee has four sections. Each section has a black back with a white panel that is decorated with two cherub figures in various positions. The seat is upholstered in a pink formal floral brocade. Below the fabric is a heraldic trim decorated with light pink and coral circular motifs containing eagles, wheels, and crowns. The arms are black and slender. The front feet of the settee are on wheels.
