Saint Anthony and the infant Jesus dominate the bottom half of this rectangular vertical oil painting on copper.  The saint wears a brown robe and has reddish brown hair and short beard.  He is on his knees with his hands crossed in front of his chest as the infant Jesus embraces him.  Jesus stands on a pillow propped on a red book and wears light pink drapery.  A spray of lilies is on the floor in front of them and a table covered in green cloth is on the viewer’s right.  On the viewer’s left, just over Saint Anthony’s shoulder, a window is cut into the rough wall and a church is visible out this window.  In the room, the Virgin Mary in a red robe and blue mantle floats on clouds above Saint Anthony and Jesus.  She is joined on the clouds by several putti.
