This stone capital dates from the late 15th century from Venice, Italy. The remains of polychrome paint is visible throughout. The main feature of this capital is a carved face with wing-like carvings on each side of its head. There are remains of red polychrome color on the wings. Below this head are leaves and a flower rising up to the chin. There are remains of red polychrome on the flower and green on the leaves. There is also green coloring the background at the top of this capital and on leaves below the wings. The capital has a plain base that curves to the floor.
