This rectangular Italian door and frame are painted gold with finely painted olive-green border decorations and gilded moldings. Mounted on a flat, unadorned olive-green backing, the gilded, gently undulating, slightly-raised moldings outline the exterior of the door frame, with a second molding demarcating the rounded, arched door. Occasional, touches of olive-green brush strokes and heavier, yet understated sections of slightly more elaborate gilded decorative elements, enliven these moldings. Within the inner moldings, olive-green wispy vines decoratively outline the flat gold background of the door and enhance the corners and sides of its frame. In the center of the door, a barely visible scene can be discerned of a woman, her back to you, propped up by her left hand with a cloth draped around her torso. A nude figure and two menacing birds descend on the woman from above. All are painted in slightly contrasting tones of gold, mustard and brown. The space above the door on the doorframe is the most ornate part of this object,  featuring two crossed, olive-green leafy branches held together by a gilded, loosely looped bow, all in low relief. Imperfectly oblong low-relief moldings flank the branch motif in the center.  On the reverse side of the door the ornate gilded molding and vine motifs on the front are replaced by simple, gold-painted moldings lined with a single olive-green line. The  decoration above the door consists of a barely visible cluster of roses faintly painted in tones of gold, mustard and brown and olive-green vines form the ovals flanking the center bouquet. Lastly, the center of the door has a muted cluster of flowers, again painted lightly in shades of gold, mustard and brown.
