Behind the woman is a light-skinned boy wearing a red hat. He leans toward the girl with his arm around her shoulder.  Toward the midground, behind this group, stands a brown cow with a light brown face. It's head is turned to face the viewer. At it's feet and to our right, two sheep lay on the ground, one facing toward the grouping, the other facing out into the distance. To the right of the sheep, a light-skinned man sits on a rock. He has brown hair with no hat, a deep blue robe, and what appears to be a large brown leather bag over his shoulder. He holds a small pipe, similar to the girl’s, in his left hand. Facing him is a young, light-skinned boy with a straw hat trimmed in red ribbon and holding what appears to a staff.  The background is done is shades of light green for the landscape and brown for the buildings. Small buildings surround a hillside covered with low shrubbery. To the back left of the hillside is a group of buildings. To the back, large buildings extend behind the trees to our right.
