Prayer Beads, early 19th century
Wood and crystal, 49 cm (19 5/16 in.)
This strand of round, dark wooden beads is interspersed at the top, bottom, and sides with six round crystal beads. From the top of the end of the strand, two short, dark blue braided silk, knotted at the ends, dangle. From the bottom end, two short strands of wooden beads, with a crystal bead at each end, dangle and cross over each other. Attached to each crystal bead is a short, dark blue silk braid, knotted at the end.
