This octagonal, vertical lantern from Spain, one of a pair, is composed of a tin frame and glass panels. It hangs from a slender oval loop attached to a thin metal piece. The lantern is decorated at the top with pedal-like shapes, on the upper corners with shapes evoking hats or candleholders, on the sides with floral shapes, and on the bottom with hanging shapes that look like bells or dunce caps. The decorations are also made of tin but are darker and browner when compared to the silvery, seemingly polished frame.
