Purchased by Isabella Stewart Gardner as a base for the attached colonnette (museum no. S5c8) from the connoisseur and art dealer Stefano Bardini (1836-1922), Florence with a second cinerarium (museum no. S5c10) for about 2,550 lire on 29 September 1899.
