This Chinese chest is made of lacquered wood and brass. This dark red chest has tan decorations of flowers, ferns and birds on all sides and top. A block of Chinese characters is visible on the front. There is a large black metal clasp at the top center of the front, black square metal handles on each side, and two black square metal hinges on the back side. All of the edges have a dark border decorated with a dark red floral and vine motif. This chest shows signs of wear.
