She wears a long, green gown under a full, scarlet robe that shrouds most of her body. The other two women, flanking the central figure, are in profile, facing right. The woman on the left wears a full length, flowing green garment from which a pink sleeve with lace trim emerges. Her robe has a dark panel in the front. She is the only one of the three women wearing a headdress. It is made of transparent white lace and falls in loose folds around her shoulders, back, and chest. The woman on the right looks away from the other two women. Her pale yellow robe is partially obscured by the red robe of the central figure. The youngest woman has shoulder length, straight, strawberry blonde hair with a thin band of crystals or white gems around the back of her head. Her chin is lifted up and her right hand touches a dark paneled wall that forms a shallow space behind the women. A pair of tall, light colored, columns with simple capitals crowd the trio on both sides. The painting cuts off half of the width of these columns and extends them vertically, well above the women’s heads, adding to a sense of horizontal compression in the composition.
