This vertical oil painting shows a view of the Ponte della Canonica, a bridge spanning a Venetian canal, and the buildings along and behind it.  The bridge is made of white stone and has a balustrade with carved spindles separated by rectangular stone blocks. Blue accents on the stone reflect the water and sky. Below the bridge is the canal. The water is painted with a wavy effect in shades of green and accents of white. Along the side to our left, a boat is pulled over to the edge of the water. Behind the boat, archways are visible and a blue boat passes beneath. On the side to our right, what appears to be a rope painted yellow hangs from the bridge into the water. On the bridge to our right, a few people are walking. To our left and into the center are buildings along the canal. The first appears to be painted light brown, the next a light shade of blue, and the third pinkish orange. In the lower corner to our right is the artist’s signature.
