Three discreet but contiguous Biblical scenes comprise this long, narrow oil painting on canvas. The scene on the viewer’s left shows a pastoral landscape with verdant low hills in the distance illuminated by a blue and pink sky. Two fully leaved trees frame a central scene of three figures. A naked child sleeps on a white cloth under the tree.  Several large boulders form pillows for the child’s head. A large amphora turned on its side is in the foreground. A winged angel in the form of a light skinned woman sweeps in on a cloud from the left and points with her right hand toward the sleeping child. The angel looks at a light skinned woman with long auburn hair in the foreground. This young woman wears a white gown with a gold cloak that covers her lower body and billows out from her right arm. She gazes placidly at the child and doesn’t seem to be aware of the angel behind her.   The central scene in this triptych also contains three figures. The background is a plain brown building with three dark, narrow, arched openings. A balding male figure with light skin wears a green robe under a brown cloak. He kneels on the left in a beseeching posture. Two female winged angels with light skin stand to the viewer’s right and look kindly at the supplicant. The angel closest to the man has auburn hair and a long gold gown with a red shawl draped over her left arm. The other angel has black hair. She has bare feet and wears a white gown with a teal color shawl flowing over her right shoulder, under that arm, and out behind her.  The last scene of the triptych to the viewer’s right has three central figures in a different landscape. They sit under a large tree with other trees and blue hills in the background. There is a town in the distance on the far right. A light skinned, balding old man sits under the shade of a tree. There is a light skinned young woman behind him. He wears a gold robe and a light brown, large, billowing cloak as he offers the woman behind him a cup. She has light skin and long blonde hair and wears a blue gown and robe. She bends over the old man attentively. The third figure is a young woman who reclines on the ground while playing a musical instrument. She has light skin, blonde hair pulled into a bun at the back of her head, and she wears a white gown with a gold and pink long cloak that protects her from the ground.
