A Virtual Museum Moment: In the Studio with Artist James Prosek

Wednesday
January 21, 2026

12 - 1 pm
Virtual

Join us for an exclusive virtual studio experience with Artist-in-Residence James Prosek. This intimate session invites viewers to witness Prosek’s work in real time, offering a rare window into the artist’s creative process.

As he draws, Prosek will be joined in conversation by Pieranna Cavalchini, Tom and Lisa Blumenthal Curator of Contemporary Art. Together, they’ll explore the inspirations behind his practice, the relationship between art and nature, and his new book Gardner’s Eden, featuring fifty-four drawings created during his residency at the Museum. Paired with selected quotes from Isabella Stewart Gardner and her contemporaries, the works capture everything from Gardner’s rarely seen personal mementos and carefully arranged gallery objects to the ever-changing flora and fauna of the Museum’s iconic Courtyard.

Free for members, patrons, and Annual Fund donors. Advance registration is required.

Join as a member or give to the Annual Fund today to attend!

If you have any questions, please reach out to the Membership Office directly at membership@isgm.org or 617 566 5643.
