Clivia miniata
Clivia features bright orange, bell-shaped flowers in clusters that rise over deep green, strappy foliage. Because Clivia thrives in semi-shaded forest understory, it fares well in the Courtyard along with the many other South African natives in the living collection. Clivia have been in the Gardner's living collection for over 40 years. The collection includes a small number of rare, lemon-flowered plants from Allen Haskell’s nursery in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
