Hedera helix
The Museum’s original Courtyard installation in 1903 featured English ivy. This evergreen vine   climbs in spirals up the low walls between the Courtyard garden and surrounding cloisters. This is likely Isabella’s echo of formal walled gardens she visited in Europe.
