Weekend Concert Series

Verona Quartet

Sunday, December 3, 2023 1:30 pm

Ludwig van Beethoven - String Quartet No. 15 in A minor, Op. 132
Grażyna Bacewicz - String Quartet No. 4 (1951)
Daniel Kidane - Foreign Tongues (2015)

The Verona Quartet make their pandemic-postponed Sunday Concert Series debut with music from three centuries. In addition to Beethoven's String Quartet No. 15, we will hear two works by composers written half a century apart. Grażnya Bacewicz was active in Warsaw during World War II (a hostess of secret concerts during the war). Her postwar Fourth Quartet is awash with folk themes from her native Poland.

The Verona Quartet is

  • Jonathan Ong, violin
  • Dorothy Ro, violin
  • Abigail Rojansky, viola
  • Jonathan Dormand, cello
