General admission for children 17 years and under is always free

Stop by the Bertucci Education Studio for drop-in art-making activities inspired by the Gardner Museum collection. Projects vary each month and may explore a variety of skills, materials, and processes including painting and sketching, printmaking, book arts, and sculpture.

Working with Polly Thayer Starr Visiting Studio Artist, Julia Gualtieri, visitors will make dioramas inspired by our current exhibition, Drawing the Curtain: Maurice Sendak’s Designs for Opera and Ballet. Julia will provide illustrated instruction sheets to guide the activity, along with custom screen-printed paper for visitors to create the scenery and characters for their dioramas.
