Persona: An Exploration in Four Parts

Narcissister is an award-winning Brooklyn-based artist and performer. Masked and merkin-ed, she works at the intersection of art, dance, and activism in a range of media including live performance, sculpture, collage, film, and video, presented worldwide in museums, galleries, festivals, and nightclubs. Her first feature film Narcissister Organ Player, a hybrid performance/documentary about her complex family history, premiered at Sundance 2018. Her activist short film Narcissister Breast Work, premiered at Sundance 2020 and won a Grand Jury Prize for Best Documentary Short at Outfest 2021. Voyage Into Infinity, a large-scale performance commission, had its world premiere at Pioneer Works in 2024, and was presented at NYU Skirball during the 2026 Under The Radar Festival. Narcissister is a 2025 recipient of a Sir Peter Shaffer Charitable Foundation commission to develop a new theatrical piece at Playwrights Horizons and is a 2025 Anonymous Was A Woman Awardee.

After graduating with a degree in African & African Diaspora Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, Hakeem Adewumi was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship scholarship to Johannesburg, South Africa. His work has been exhibited at the Houston Museum of African American Culture, Houston, TX; the George Washington Carver Museum and Culture Center, Austin, TX; the Janette Kennedy Gallery, Dallas, TX; and is in the collection of the Phyllis and Ross Escalette Permanent Collection, Chapman University. Over the years Adewumi has curated several pop-up exhibitions including an experimental project, Juneteenth House. This project is an immersive concept house and multidisciplinary studio merging design and art to explore placemaking, culture, and Black identity in Texas. Adewumi is a Gardner Museum Artist-in-Residence and exhibited during the 2024 Summer exhibition season.

Jamie Diamond (b. 1983, USA) is a performance artist, photographer, and filmmaker whose work explores the human figure through themes of motherhood, memory, and intimacy. She often uses herself as a subject or collaborates with strangers, mimes, professional actors, and outsider artists to inhabit a range of characters and roles. Through this process, she examines authenticity and blurs the line between reality and fabrication, challenging traditional narratives and societal norms.
