A musician's musician, the great Miranda Cuckson comes to the Gardner Museum with a program that comprises nearly two hundred years of violin music, from Beethoven to the Jamaican-British Alberga. A thrilling mix of astringent modernism and earthy Russianism, Prokofiev’s first violin sonata is an ideal showcase for Cuckson’s virtuosity and range of expressive colors.
