Winter Stroll

On February 15, take a stroll outdoors with your valentine, your colleague, or perhaps your four-legged friend along the Longwood Ice Sculpture Stroll, which will transform the district into a winter wonderland.

The Longwood Collective is hosting an inaugural, free, outdoor, ice sculpture stroll on February 15th. Sculptures will be placed across 15 locations in the district including Simmons Academic Building, Emmanuel College, Children's Hospital Boston, Windsor School, and Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Demonstrations will be offered at Harvard Medical School and the Shapiro Plaza at corner the of Longwood and Brookline Avenues. Come out to see the ice sculptures, explore the district, and make the most of the cold. Many of the ice sculptors have presented their works during First Night Boston.

In front of the Gardner Museum, Isabella herself will be frozen in time—at least until the ice melts—with one of her great loves: her dogs. The sculpture is based on the book cover of Isabella Stewart Gardner: Dog Lover.

The stroll officially runs between 11 am - dusk but the Gardner will illuminate the statue through the evening hours till 9:00 pm. Come out, grab a hot chocolate at a neighboring cafe, enjoy the icy artworks and the winter weather (knowing that the official start of Spring is a little more than four weeks away)!
