John Zorn 70th Birthday Celebration

Teresa de Ávila: Frisell, Riley, Lage

Sunday, September 24, 2023 1:30 pm

John Zorn - Teresa de Ávila (2021)

Our Zorn birthday celebration opens with music from the third and final installment of his Christian Mystics trilogy. The first two collections of music in this series took inspiration from Francis of Assisi and Julian of Norwich. Zorn wrote the entire project for this all-star acoustic guitar trio:

  • Bill Frisell, guitar
  • Gyan Riley, guitar
  • Julian Lage, guitar

This concert runs approximately one hour with no intermission.
