Join us for a special performance by Boston-based ensemble VOICES 21C and spoken word collaborators Eric M. Anderson and 2ruTh7, inspired by Titus Kaphar: The Jerome Project, which presents a series of extraordinary portraits painted by artist Titus Kaphar that interrogate the absence of incarcerated individuals from the social fabric of the United States.

VOICES 21C, directed by André de Quadros, is a community-focused artists’ collective dedicated to performances that amplify social justice issues in the US and abroad, elevating the voices of the silenced, the forgotten, and the marginalized. Together, the collective imagines the choir as a locus for creativity, compassion, justice, resistance, empowerment, and equity. Don’t miss a talkback with André de Quadros, Eric M. Anderson, 2ruTh7 and other participating artists after the performance to learn more about their creative process and advocacy efforts across Boston and beyond.
