In this talk, Carl Brandon Strehlke will investigate the evolution of Fra Angelico’s painting in conjunction with his role as a Dominican friar. Learn about the Florentine artist’s work at the cusp of the Renaissance as he—along with contemporaries Brunelleschi, Donatello, and Filippo Lippi — ushered in a visual arts revolution.

Speaker:

Carl Brandon Strehlke, Curator Emeritus, Philadelphia Museum of Art
