Luana is the founder of Hands of Gaia Reiki and Lunation Life Cycle Support. She has been a Reiki practitioner since 2005 in the Traditional Usui System of Natural Healing. She also integrates energy healing practices she was initiated in, from the Q’ero lineage of Peru, into her Reiki treatments as well as Earth based spiritual practices of the African Diaspora. In her role of Birth and Bereavement Doula and Death Midwife, she is passionate about empowered, family-led birth and death experiences, as well as community education regarding options at the beginning and end of life.
Her community-based healing justice work brings her to activist spaces, schools, and nonprofit organizations. She has been holding monthly Full Moon Circles in the community for three years. Prior to transitioning full-time to her practice, she dedicated 18 years to working in Human Services with individuals and families in a variety of settings, including Residential Treatment, Outpatient, and Supportive Housing with individuals and families struggling with mental health issues, trauma, addiction, chronic health conditions, and homelessness.
I have been so excited about building relationships with the amazing members of my cohort beyond our shared experience. I am here to bear witness to the stones in these walls and objects.
