This horizontal photographic print on paper shows two light-skinned men from the chest up, standing next to each other and staring out at us with serious gazes. The printed label at the bottom identifies the men as (John) Ruskin and (Dante Gabriel) Rossetti. The man to our left (Ruskin) is clean-shaven, while the man to our right (Rossetti) has a dark mustache and beard. Both men wear multi-layered suits with shirts and material around their neck, although the suit on the man to our left is more open, has wider lapels, and has more contrasting tones. Behind the men there is a hazy background with traces of a tree above.
