This pair of Japanese panels, which date from the late 18th century, is made of carved and gilded wood, possibly oak, and measures approximately 7.5 by 21 inches. This arched piece of wood rests on delicate feet at each end. The highly carved center panel has a graceful wave-like motif with several open spaces.
