This black and white print of an etching is a view of a portly man in a doorway. He is shown in three-quarters view, filling the foreground, but standing off center to the left. He looks past the viewer’s right shoulder with an expression of satisfaction. He holds a lit cigar in his left hand and a tumbler of dark liquid in his right hand, lifted, as in a toast. He is wearing a dark, unbuttoned suit coat and vest stretched across his ample midsection. He has a long, wispy, gray beard; although, his sparse, short hair is dark. His eyes seem merry; although, there are significant bags under them and his high, arched, dark eyebrows are more quizzical. Strong light comes from the right and illuminates a barely sketched, open door behind the man and to his right. The open door leads to a cluster of four middle aged men who are similarly dressed in dark suits. Three of the four look expectantly into the room where the main character stands..
