This is a Japanese cast iron bell. The bell has a thick, braided tan rope with a tassel attached to it that allows it to be hung. Visually, the bell is separated into three sections with a raised line differentiating the sections. The top third is the smallest and is decorated with raised dots. There are two sets of sixteen dots. Each set forms a square that is four columns of four dots each. The next section is bare, but is slightly larger than the top third. The bottom third is the largest. Three raised figures decorate this last section. The details of the figures have been worn down, but it is possible to determine that they are human-shaped. Each figure has a circular halo around its head. The figures on the right and left both have Japanese characters to their left.
