Arlen Heginbotham, conservator at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles, will discuss some of the ways in which the field of art conservation is continuing to advance and innovate, and how the goals and vision laid out by George Stout, director of the Gardner Museum from 1955–1970, still serve as valuable guideposts for a field in transition.
