Gardens and Horticulture flourish at the Gardner Museum, reflecting Isabella Stewart Gardner’s passion for these activities. The Museum’s interior Courtyard is itself an astonishing work of art, combining plants, sculpture, and architectural elements.

In addition to the Monks Garden outside the historic building, green spaces link the Museum to the adjacent Evans Way Park and provide a visual connection between the Palace and the transparent visitor spaces of the new wing. Now newly commissioned designs for the exterior gardens will allow visitors to experience the centrality of gardens arts at the Museum.
