School and University Visits

The Gardner Museum welcomes students and teachers from grades 3 - 12 to the college and university level to explore the Museum on a guided or self-guided visit. Our school and university tours are designed to engage students through conversation and close looking, while also discovering the unique history of the Museum. Gallery experiences offer the opportunity to enhance course curricula, whether in the arts, humanities, or STEAM.

There are a few tour policies to keep in mind:

  • Tour options and pricing are subject to change; please inquire to confirm availability
  • All groups of 8 or more must register as a group, even if self-guided
  • All group visits, including onsite guided tours, self-guided tours, and virtual visits must be scheduled at least three weeks in advance
  • All school groups grades 3-8 must be guided.
  • High school groups of 10 or fewer may register for a self-guided visit; College groups of 30 or fewer may register for a self guided visit.
  • Guided tours and virtual visits are typically one hour long and include 4 stops
  • We can accommodate up to 30 people per onsite tour and 60 people per virtual visit
