Although the cities of Florence and Venice were both wealthy and beautiful in the 15th and 16th centuries, there were fundamental differences. The Renaissance comes to Florence first and later to Venice in a decidedly different form. This tour explores the two creative centers during the Italian Renaissance and compares the artists they nurtured, particularly the contrasting geniuses of Botticelli and Titian.
