Directions and Parking

A limited number of free and metered spots are available near the Gardner Museum. We also offer discounted parking at the next-door Simmons School of Management Garage and are walking distance from the lots at the Museum of Fine Arts.

Simmons University Parking 

Discounted* parking is available on Levels P1-P3 of the Simmons School of Management (SOM) Garage, at 86 Avenue Louis Pasteur. Please note there is ongoing construction in the garage so parking is limited generally between the hours of 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. Please visit the Museum of Fine Arts parking garage if you are not able to get into the Simmons Garage. 

After parking, exit the Simmons Garage, towards Palace Road, cross street and go straight on Tetlow Street. Take a left on Evans Way to main entrance at the New Wing of the Museum.

4 - 5 hours: $17.19
5+ hours: $22.95

Museum of Fine Arts Parking

Three parking lots are available at the Museum of Fine Arts, on Museum Road accessible from Huntington Avenue or from the Fenway.

From lots, walk towards the Fenway and make a left, follow to corner. Make right on Louis Prang Street and continue past Evans Way Park. Make a left on Evans Way and continue to main entrance of the New Wing of the Museum.

The Gardner is easily accessible by both bus and subway, and we encourage you to take advantage of the MBTA, Boston’s public transportation system (known by natives as the “T”). For more information about Boston’s public transportation system, visit the MBTA website.

Subway

Take the Green Line E train to the Museum of Fine Arts stop, or the Orange Line train to the Ruggles stop.

Bus

The Gardner Museum is accessible by the 8, 19, 39, 47, CT2, and CT3 bus routes. Use the MBTA’s Trip Planner tool to find the best route for you.

Visitors can also use Blue Bikes. Bikes can be rented at Blue Bike stations across Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville, and docked at stations by Simmons College on the Fenway or Longwood Ave., both five minutes from the Museum. Visit Blue Bike's site for pricing and detail.
