Dates and times for tours at the Museum are often reserved quickly. For the best chance of reserving on your desired date and time, please contact the Education Department four weeks in advance.
Registration
All groups of 10 or more people must register at least 4 weeks in advance by calling 617 278 5147, Monday through Friday, 9am–5pm, or by emailing tours@isgm.org.
Unregistered groups may be denied entry to the Museum.
Group reservations are not confirmed over the phone. The Tour Manager must receive a completed registration form in order to complete the confirmation process.
Group Size
Due to the intimate nature of the Museum’s galleries, a maximum of 60 students per tour reservation time is allowed for guided groups. Groups larger than 60 will have staggered admission times. Students are divided into groups of 15 or fewer. Any group with more than 10 students and chaperones must be guided.
Hours
Guided visits may be scheduled Monday, Wednesday through Saturday at the following arrival times: 11:15 am, 12:30 pm, 1:45 pm, and 3:15 pm. The Museum is closed on Tuesdays.
Self-guided visits may be scheduled Monday, Wednesday through Saturday at the following arrival times: 11:30 am, 12:45 pm, 2:15 pm, and 3:30 pm.
The Museum cannot guarantee extended tours to accommodate late arrivals.
Chaperones
One chaperone is required for every 10 students in a guided school group; two chaperones are required for self-guided groups. Chaperones should familiarize themselves and their students with the Museum guidelines sent with the visit confirmation and help Museum staff with their enforcement.
Fees and Payment
Guided Groups: $6 per student, which includes admission and guided tour.
Self-Guided Groups: $4 per student, which includes admission only.
Please pay your group’s fees in one payment upon arrival. Payment is accepted by credit card, cash, or check.
Please note: Up to five teachers and chaperones are admitted free of charge. Additional chaperones are charged at the adult rate.
Cancellations
Should your group need to cancel or change the date of its visit, please call 617 278 5147 or email tours@isgm.org. 72 hours notice is required.

The Museum does not provide parking facilities. In addition to metered street parking, several parking lots and garages are located nearby. Buses must find their own parking.
