Visit before the Museum opens or in the evening hours for a closer look at works within the collection and uncover their dynamic interpretations.
In 1999, artist Maurizio Nannucci created a work in neon around the words "All Art Has Been Contemporary." Inspired by this concept, we will explore the idea that "contemporary art" is the art of any time that challenges us to reevaluate social, political, economic, or moral values and beliefs. We'll examine contemporary works on view at the Gardner Museum, as well as works in the historic collection, to enhance our understanding and appreciation of art as an agent of change.
Open to all members, $10 per person (maximum of two tickets for Friend level and above). Advance registration is required. Not a member and want to attend? Join now!
