We hate to say it, but the Museum's gorgeous paintings hog the spotlight. August's event is a toast to dazzling handcrafted works in the collection, like textiles, silver, leather and more.
Cash wine bar around the Courtyard. Café G open for snacks, dinner, and drinks.
Kenzie Slottow: Fusion Flute | 5:30 pm–9 pm
The Austin-based flutist-composer mixes classical virtuosity with Celtic-inspired, cinematic melodies, layering loops of hip-hop inspired vocal percussion and flute effects into songs in a genre all their own.
SHORT AND SWEET: 20 MINUTE TALKS
Out of Storage: Velvet Ikat | 6 pm / 7 pm
Join Tess Fredette, textile conservator, for a discussion of a rarely seen textile from the historic collection.
X-Rays and Angels | 6:30 pm / 7:30 pm
Ellen Promise, FAIC/Kress conservation fellow, will talk about two sculptures in the Gothic Room recently conserved with the help of some very modern technology.
THROUGHOUT THE EVENING
