Inspired by Isabella Gardner’s legacy, “Questions of Collecting” is an occasional series of talks on different areas of collecting and connoisseurship.
Rachel Cohen, author of Bernard Berenson: A Life in the Picture Trade, will share some of Gardner and Berenson’s adventures in collecting Italian paintings. With this context, we can begin to see how the rapidly changing Gilded Age market for old master pictures was on its way to becoming the art market of today.
Free and open to all members and patrons. Space is limited. Register online by clicking "Get Tickets" above, or through the Box Office at 617 278 5156. Not a member? Join now.
