Highlights from his half-century career as a songwriter, along with music by his friends and inspirations: Samuel Barber, Leonard Bernstein, Paul Bowles, Benjamin Britten, Theodore Chanler, Aaron Copland, Noël Coward, Francis Poulenc, and Virgil Thomson.
